George and Lily’s wedding took place on a warm day in late summer. We were greeted upon arrival with rolling hills dotted with horses and a view of the Patuxent River. This beautiful spot is actually the horse farm of a family friend who welcomed them to celebrate their wedding there! We were so excited when we heard their wedding would be held on a horse farm. Lily chose the most lovely shades of lilac and dusty purple for her bridesmaids, while the groomsmen wore navy complimented with soft purple tones as well. And the bouquets were absolutely darling!
Their bridal party was energetic and excited to get the celebrations started pretty much from the time we got there! George and Lily chose to share their first look down the aisle, which is always such a sweet moment to witness. They shared personally written vows in an outdoor ceremony behind the farm’s stately home.
Btw, have you ever seen two fully grown, bearded men with flower cannons walk down the aisle in lieu of flower girls…? Well, you’re about to. 😉
Following the ceremony, guests took a short walk around to the front of the farmhouse and enjoyed cocktail hour in front of the tall pillars of the front porch. After so many incredible portraits in the glowing golden hour, George and Lily spent the rest of the evening dancing the night away with friends and family under a big white tent in the front yard. The best way to spend a summer wedding if you ask us! We sure do love an outdoor wedding on a summer night. 😊
