This engagement session was nothing short of dreamy. The magnolia blossoms and golden light were really working well together to set this absolutely stunning scene!
I was so excited when Seth reached out several weeks back about photographing his and Shay’s wedding. I’ve known him for ages– we go all the way back to our homeschool co-op days! When he told me he’d known several years ago that he wanted me to photograph his wedding one day, I felt so honored. It worked out when Shay told Seth this was the photography style she loved!
When we met up at Baker Park, it was the perfect weather. We had actually rescheduled from the day before, which turned out to be a gift because it was 20 degrees warmer, sunny, and there was a lot less wind. The only downside was that there were so many people out enjoying the beautiful day haha! But we did our best to find some spots with a few less people and the bell tower gardens with the magnolia trees in peek bloom just so happened to be perfect!
I was doing what I usually do when the light gets golden and starts making everything extra dreamy and exclaiming over it and I told them they looked like they were straight out of a Hallmark movie (which I fully meant!), to which Seth responded, “You probably say that to everyone!”
I’ll admit that I do usually get excited over golden hour and start saying things excitedly when the light starts getting glowy and magical… But I do not tell everyone they look like they’re out of a Hallmark movie and either way, I only say it if I really mean it, truly, haha! Anyways, it was magical and I was having a moment.
Shay’s daughter, Ella, joined them for some of the photos and it was such a sweet time with the three of them. They’re going to make such a cute little family!
After finding some other pretty spots in the park (we even found a spot with some swans in just the right place! ), we moved to some streets downtown when the light was really at its best! We found a lovely older church to end the session with.
Capturing such a special season for friends is just always a little extra special. Susan and I are looking forward to photographing their wedding later this summer!
xoxo,
Teresa

Hi there! I'm Teresa, your wedding, portrait, and homestead photographer. I picked up a camera at an early age and loved being able to capture the beauty I saw around me. 2015 is when I first began taking photos for people who weren't my family ;). Since then, I've been blessed to capture so many special moments for so many people, from weddings & engagements, to family sessions and maternity! I'm so grateful to be able to do this so that you, your families, and loved ones can treasure these memories for years to come. Thank you for stopping by!
